How the score works

One rubric, not a copied star rating.

Each route receives up to 30 points for route efficiency, 30 for visitor value, 20 for ease and friction, and 20 for evidence confidence. For each category, 90–100% of the available points means a clear strength with minor caveats; 75–89% means strong but with a material tradeoff; 60–74% means workable with notable friction; below 60% means the route should usually be changed. Scores are assigned in whole points from the route and evidence described on each page, then added without weighting beyond those category maxima.

Official and operator pages establish practical facts. Google Maps listings and direct overseas-community threads expose possible traveler friction, but comments are self-selected, mutable, and not systematically sampled. Their ratings, counts, and wording are not copied into the score.
